I agree that there are things that women might do that place them at risk of being raped. There are things anyone can do that place them at risk of being a victim of violent crime. Getting so drunk you can't stand is bloody silly regardless. But who in their right mind could think someone was "asking for it?" or in any way responsible for the actions of her attacker. How on earth does the number of sexual partners you've had make you in any way responsible for the actions of another person? I can't understand the mentality of the 4-8% who thought that women were always responsible for being raped. Where they dropped on their heads at birth?

The good news is that when asked about several scenarios 54-69% of those questioned said that women were not responsible. It would be interesting to see how attitudes have changed in the past 20 or so years.
